Though sometimes, particularly when they resemble humans, robots can be confused with cyborgs the simple difference between the two is down to the fact that cyborgs have organic components, even if it is small as a brain whilst robots are all machine.
CLEA’s designation refers to two types of machine. These are drones which have to be controlled by a human pilot, and automatons which have some form of computer AI system that allows them to operate without human intervention. Often robots will sometimes encompass both of these systems in that they can be autonomous and at the same time have the means for a human to take control.
